VISUAL CAMPAIGN DESIGN, 2025

KUUNTELE.

CHALLENGE

As part of a school course, our assignment was to create a visual campaign supporting students’ mental health and ability to study. The goal was to improve the knowledge and skills of those responsible for promoting mental well-being and preventing mental health issues among students.

To give the campaign a realistic foundation, we chose Mieli Ry as our reference client—a leading organization in mental health in Finland.

INSIGHT

Many university students face stress and mental health challenges but often feel isolated and unheard. A cultural shift is needed—one that encourages open, caring conversations to help students feel truly supported.

SOLUTION

The campaign encourages Finns — especially students — to care for their own and others’ mental health through listening. The core message is simple: by listening and supporting one another, we can improve student well-being together.

Close-up portraits of students expressing different emotions, paired with the slogan “Listen.”, reinforce the campaign’s call for empathy.

Using a clear, caring tone and vibrant visuals, the campaign makes mental health conversations more approachable. It runs through outdoor ads near universities, targeted social media, and a student discussion event promoting open dialogue and community support.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

I partnered with a classmate to create this student mental health campaign inspired by Mieli Ry. Our insights into students’ mental health challenges influenced the campaign’s empathetic approach and design. The project strengthened my ability to handle sensitive topics and deliver clear, impactful work under tight deadlines.
