CHALLENGE

Current event marketing was not reaching enough potential attendees, leading to low turnout and ultimately insufficient donations relative to the resources used. The key challenge was to attract a larger audience and increase participation.

INSIGHT

Doing good feels more meaningful when it’s part of one’s own wellbeing and a shared community experience.

SOLUTION

Rescue Run — a new event concept for Rescueyhdistys Kulkurit ry — combines movement and charity into a shared community experience.

Rescue-themed run club meetups encourage young adults to stay active together while supporting rescue dogs through donations, with communication focused on Instagram and TikTok leveraging existing run club communities to effectively reach the target audience. The concept culminates in a larger running event, where participants run to raise funds for rescue dogs while making the organization’s work and impact visible.

Donations are generated through multiple touchpoints: paid participation in both meetups and the main event, digital donations from supporters and on-site fundraising such as charity merchandise sales.

Rescue Run shows that every step matters—for both people and the rescue dogs in Romania.

Rescue Run is an event concept developed in response to a brief from Cub Cup 2026 competition. Working as a two-person team, we had one week to create a new event concept for Rescue Association Hobo Dogs, focusing on increasing participation and fundraising impact.
